Rupert Murdoch says he controls the political line of the Sun and News of the World, but not those of The Times and Sunday Times. [Although he often asks their editors what they are doing, and it would be very surprising if he didn't bend their ears if not their policies.]
The Australian-born US citizen media tycoon also believes that if Sky News acted more like his US Fox News it could become "a proper alternative to the BBC"! This throws a fascinating insight upon the Dirty Digger's conception of fair and balanced reporting. Not that the BBC is perfect in this respect, but it's streets ahead of Fox.

Well, if the polls are correct, Australians have seen through the lies, deceptions and bullshit disseminated by this Australian-born US 'citizen'.
THE Difference is that Mr Murdoch, like /messrs/ Ralph Peters, Thomas Sowell and others, is culturally confident; ideas & effort have worked out for him, and so he can't for the life of him see how the others don't seem to 'get it'. Hence, outward life-failure must be in some essential way /deliberate/.
Bully for him! But he did have a wealthy Pa with a ready-made press empire for him to inherit, didn't he?
WELL, I wan't trying to TRADUCE the old ....!
Murdoch is of course a snake oil salesman head and shoulders above most other snake oil salesmen [see an earlier post here]. Practically everyone knows that the 'news' his media empire purveys is highly slanted and selective to a tendentious degree at his personal behest, yet millions continue to pour their money into his coffers. There's even a sneaking admiration for the old villain's shamelessness and chutzpah. Such is the puzzle of human nature - lots of people LIKE being bamboozled!
WELL, say what you will, Aunty, this Murdoch-crud IS a mere putz, certainly compared to Scrooge McDuck!
