Say No to Tony Blair as EU President!

There is an online petition at

http://www.stopblair.eu

opposing the proposed appointment of Tony Blair as President of the European Union when the Lisbon Treaty comes into force. The petition is well argued, and has already attracted over 27,600 signatures [including mine].

Please read the petition and if you agree with it sign it yourself and urge your friends to do so. We must all do our utmost to defeat the vainglorious ambitions of this disastrously self-deluded man, who has already done enormous damage to our country, to Western civilisation, and to the world.

Good Lord. Still, I don't think that /I/ can sign this petiton, being an inhabitant of a state not (yet) incorporated into the European "Union" (which by the way WOULD serve these NeoCon -ssh-les over here a good one right on the nose!)

The thing that unnerves is the spectacle so often in History, of the incessant drive for /more/ prestige and responsibility that, in the end, mere increased dollops of 'more' outward 'power' cannot satisfy. In the case of Mr Blair, a follower of Cardinal Newman, the whole life would make a lot more sense if he were now to embark on a period of monastic retreat. His confessor had certainly ought to enjoin specifically a period of strict media avoidance, now that would amount to something in the spiritual realm! Of course we'd as lief it were for good and all, but seriously the quondam 'powerful' do have their share too of the inner human need, sooner or later, to retire, reflect and if need be to repent, of all the noise and mess ad nuisance they have made heretofore in the World. Still more is this the case if the professed conscious attitude is so obnoxiously 'idealistic' and 'to do good' as gets put across on Tee Vee. The descriptive phrase 'people of the Lie' is, alas, no mere bagatelle. Naturally, as with any formal degree or certification or other form of licensure, it is self-protective and then the rest of us are taken down willy-nilly in the general incompetent avalanche, by all the blissful self-deception. These benevolent meddling folks especially tend to have just enormous and hideous, stinking, shadows of repressed murderous rage and infantility, that of course a Hitler or Stalin completely lacked through a series a healthy cathartic displacements and projections. In the case of a Jacqui Smith, then, it is the chinless castrato husband full of un-met and brutally shoved under longings for the gayer fuller life of the tower blocks, who must in the name of the sacred family drama and nostalgie de la boue then step on the thrown down and slippery, wet, used condom or banana skin. It is the unique burden of 'the good' and the credentialled, these 'comrades of proven worth', that the dirt they are are 'too fine' to do simply flies out into the community atmosphere, and then the undone Evil of the high-up and the professionally subsidised non-productive just plain lands on someone or other too weak to stand up to it in some housing estate. And then in days to come, lo and behold, you have another midget personality in the Post Office or the Met, joining the BNP and becoming C-in-C of the Concentration Camp Service. This complete lack of anything whatever like an inner attitude is what it is to be objectively God-damned. Naturally, everyone then is aghast and tents their finger-ends and bleats 'why?' The NuLabour personality type along with everyone else hiding in the dead middle of conventional life in short has a lot on their plate in the way of professionally therapeutically orphaned guilt, and no amount of post-modern swill can in the end change this human fact, common to us all.

I shouldn't think Blair knows much, if anything, about Cardinal Newman. He probably confuses him with Cardinal Wolsey.......
