“We feel your pain – tee hee.”

COMPASSION is the New Year 2009 buzzword among thuggish world statesmen.

The Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, says:

[It is] compassion and tolerance which characterize us."

His opposition number, Binyamin [‘Bibi’] Netanyahu, says:

"We grieve for every one of them [the many hundreds of Palestinian casualties in Gaza]; we genuinely do."

But the Isreali foreign minister, Tzipi Livni, has assured the world that

"there is no humanitarian crisis in the [Gaza] Strip, and therefore there is no need for a humanitarian truce."

So THAT’S alright, then.

These gems of humbug are easily outstripped, however, by the mercifully retiring US President George W Bush, who asserted at his farewell presidential news conference that:

“the world respects America for its compassion”.

As Paul Craig Roberts - http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article21755.htm

- sarcastically enquires, did he mean

The compassion of bombing a UN school for girls?

The compassion of herding 100 Palestinians into one house and then shelling it?

The compassion of bombing hospitals and mosques?

The compassion of depriving 1.5 million Palestinians of food, medicine, and energy?

The compassion of violently overthrowing the democratically elected Hamas government?

The compassion of blowing up the infrastructure of one of the poorest and most deprived people on earth?

The compassion of abstaining from a Security Council vote condemning these actions?

Will there ever be an end to this shameful Orwellian doublespeak?

"Will there ever be an end to this..."

Orwell would have liked that.

Enter chorus of weeping crocodiles, blushing furiously.

If any in the Zone are entitled to be called Semites, that is the Palestinians. I very much doubt that the majority of the Israelis have any vestige of Jewish blood.

Compassion? An often forgotten word everywhere, the base instincts of the human being at their worst.

What's in a name? Whatever their ethnic and racial origins and religious affiliations, thugs are thugs and share a common brutality worldwide.

What we are experiencing, thanks to the crass failure of principled leadership by the USA and UK since 9/11, is the resurgence of fascist behaviour under the bogus banner of 'democracy'.

Fascists were, and are, compassionate only to their like.

Not difficult, then, to find who are and who are not.

Sorry, but:
"The compassion of bombing a UN school for girls?"

Well THAT story has been debunked allready. Even by staff at the school itself. Some people got hurt though outside of the school premesises.

"The compassion of herding 100 Palestinians into one house and then shelling it?"

Actually, the IDF mail bombed, sent numerous SMS:s and made several thousand phonecalls to Gaza'ns before bombing ceartain structures. Instead it was the hamas "government" who used civilians as human shields!

"The compassion of bombing hospitals and mosques?"

Well, if hamas put rocket launching facilities on or nearby mosques and hospitals- then they had it coming. There are numerous videos on the net which show the hamas militia doing just that- and also using UN ambulances to attack the IDF.

"The compassion of depriving 1.5 million Palestinians of food, medicine, and energy?"

Hmm, the Gazans today get almost 100 % of their food medicine and energy from or via Israel. 1300 trucks a week worth of it last I checked. How come the Gazans can't provide for themselves? They seem to have the ample amount of cash reserves to buy explosives, quassam rockets and mortar ammunition. Why not buy food, medicine and actually PAY for the electricity that the Israelians are providing them with?

"The compassion of violently overthrowing the democratically elected Hamas government?"

The nazis was also democratically elected, also the communist governments of China and USSR not to mention Robert Mugabe ór Julio Chavez!

"The compassion of blowing up the infrastructure of one of the poorest and most deprived people on earth?"

Here we have to ask ourselves: "Why are they amongst the poorest and most deprived people on earth?" Also. "Who has built up the infrastructure, and with whoms money?"
It's not the Gazan's money or labour that has done it- that's for sure.
Besides; most of the original infrastructure are still there. The IDF did not accomplice even a fraction of a per cent of the damage the Allies did on Dresten on one single day during molten lead.

"The compassion of abstaining from a Security Council vote condemning these actions?"

Please! When has UNSC ever been right? When have they ever refrained from condemning acts of atrocities done by political or theological dictators? When have they ever refrained for conemning democratic states? SWEDEN has been condemned a doussin times over the past decade. Hamas and Fatah? Zero, sip, nil, nada!

Please let's have some perspective over this issue.

I'm not saying that everything Israel and IDF does is good. But Israel is still the ONLY functioning democracy in the area. Ask yourself a question. If you had to choose, where would you rather go on a vacation; Israel, Gaza or the West Bank?

Respectfully
Pela

Sorry:
That should be "Hugo Chavez", not "Julio".

Pela, I stand by my comment of 15 January. I am not anti-Jewish or anti-semitic - but the mindset and behaviour of almost every Israeli politician increasingly resembles that of the Nazis in the 1930s: brazen lies excusing atrocious deeds.

I am old enough to remember that era. You are not. We shall have to differ over this one.

And that does not mean that I am pro-Hamas, either. A plague on both their houses. These religiously insane equally bigoted people will spark off World War Three unless America has the sense and will to stop them - which I doubt.

Hamas wants the UK destroyed and ruled by Sharia Law. Nobody against this can support them and still be sane. People supporting Hamas are 'Neo-Nazis' or supporters of the New Nazis, the Islamic Fundamentalists. Of course most think they are not, but they actually are.

Israel has a right to self-defense, period. Hamas fires missile from schools and apartment buildings. They won’t allow civilians to leave the danger area. Hamas wants Palistinian civilians killed so they can get your sympathy. Israel repeatedly warns cilvilians in the area through phone calls and dropping leaflets. Hamas has no excuses.

People must realize that this is not a border dispute. Islamic Fundamentalists want ALL Jews dead and gone. Period.

The delusional insanity of many on the Left and a few on the Right about this is frightening. They ignore all facts and logic. Hamas, a terrorist organization killing the so-called Palestinians' hope for peace, are evil garbage, they must be eliminated. They have sent thousands, yes thousands of missiles into Israel over the past couple of years and Israel had never exercised their right of self-defense, until recently, when Hamas broke the ceasefire and started firing rockets again.

Israel is FINALLY doing the right thing. If Hamas is destroyed, then, if the rest of the 'Palestinians' really want peace they can give up their dream of destroying Israel, if not, they will never have peace.

Israel must destroy as much of Hamas as possible before the MSM and the idiots and ignorants whine loud enough for them to stop. They must only quit when they are ready.

For EVERY missile shot into Israel at least ONE missile should be returned to the area as close as possible to the shooter. Tit for tat. Every single missile should be returned. Period. Treat them like adults, if they kill, they will be killed. If they send missiles, they will receive them. That is the only way they will learn. Screw public opinion, force them to see the truth, or let them be damned.

My views on the totalitarian nature of Islam, and its incompatibility with Western ideas of freedom, are abundantly on record in this blog. But two wrongs don’t make a right. So far as the recent atrocities in Gaza are concerned, I prefer the testimony of the UN Secretary-General and of his representatives and aid workers on the spot.

And as a slight corrective to the above piece of Zionist propaganda, a little publicised document is "The UN Report Prepared for Ralph Bunche", listing all the atrocities committed by Jewish terrorist groups when Palestine was in British hands. Jewish terrorists even threatened to take their campaign to Britain and kill British civilians:

www.jrbooksonline.com/HTML-docs/bunche-report.htm
www.doublestandards.org/unbunche.html

One pertinent entry:

On December 30, 1947, a British Major and three sergeants were kidnapped and flogged by Jewish terrorists.

Other Jewish terrorist acts included: plots to blow up British military headquarters, the kidnapping and hanging of British military officials, killing British policemen, letter bombs to numerous British government officials, machine gun attacks on Palestinian cities, bombing hotels, blowing up trains, blowing up oil pipelines, detonating bombs at British embassies, detonating trucks laden with explosives, and bank robbery.

In 1980, the Stern Gang (also known as Lehi) was officially honoured by the Israeli government as "freedom fighters". The Stern Gang was one of the most active terrorist Jewish groups during the 1940s, whose stated goal was to "forcibly evict the British authorities from Palestine, allowing unrestricted immigration of Jews and the formation of a Jewish state". A special Lehi ribbon - a military decoration - was designed for the former members.

The U.N. report writes: "There appears to be no way to control the Jews or their determinations to drive all of the Arabs out of Jerusalem by force if necessary.
The initial Arab response to Jewish harassment over the past year has been very slow in coming, but it seems to be quite inevitable, and a terrible civil war is foreseen.

"The Arabs, initially living in peace with the Jewish minority, have been increasingly victimized by the Jews who, now that the British are leaving, are turning their savage behaviour against them."

Oh – and the murder of the UN’s peace envoy, Count Bernadotte:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/israels-forgotten-hero-the-assassination-of-count-bernadotte--and-the-death-of-peace-934094.html

So peaceful and democratic, these Israelis!

Yes, Anticant, that's also my take of the whole question.

Those last comments for the Israeli cause make me remind a saying here: "the most obstinate blind is the one that refuses to see".

anticant said...

Well, Jose, in the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king.

These people in Palestine - Jews and Arabs - will between them spark off World War Three because of their mutual hatreds without any compunction for the rest of us.

I used to be quite sympathetic to Israel in its early days, when there was still some semblance of idealism. Now I view it as a blatant land-grabbing and ethnic-cleansing exercise.

Thankfully, more and more people in the West are starting to realise this. But the stranglehold which Zionists exert upon American politics through such lobbies as AIPAC and ADL won't be loosened in a hurry. Obama and Hillary Clinton are already singing along the same old refrain, so I am not hopeful of any early change there.

anticant said...

I should have said "Jews and Muslims", not "Arabs", because it is of course the religious conflict more than racial hatred which spurs on the bigots of both faiths.

Religion is the curse of suffering humanity.
