Out of my pet goat's mouth

President George W. Bush has solemnly announced that "The US believes the people of China deserve the fundamental liberty that is the natural right of all human beings."

This from the man who is responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people around the world, and for the drastic curtailment of the civil liberties of his own citizens.

Words fail me.

"deaths of millions" -- ?

How do you figure?

Same way as Bush/Blair figured there were all those WMDs! Though there is this:

In any case, YD, the thrust of my post wasn't aimed at the exact numbers who have died unnecessarily as a result of Bush's policies. He would still be a moral monster and consummate hypocrite, even if the true figure is a few thousand - or only ten [or one]. To argue otherwise is like the excuse for the servant girl's baby: "It was only a little one".

I don't think you fully realise how far this one man and his bone-brained utterances is responsible for the deep contempt and dislike with which your country is unfortunately viewed nowadays by all too many of its erstwhile friends and admirers.

And the first to be included in the addition are the American soldiers and personnel that were sent to Iraq on false pretences.

Figures for the Iraqi civillian dead have not had any preferences with the American media.

A more-nuanced view of the bushean & christianist American public may be found in V S Naipaul's 1989 /A Turn in the South/.

Naturally, the Wyoming Asshole, Pissbrain & Pacemaker Screwball is foaming at the mouth that it wasn't "millions."

As an American patriot I wouldn't mind these numbers if it was a matter of defending these borders...but, fighting for our pornographic "way of masturba...er, life," Big Oil and zionism, all of that semi-semitic drivel in Iraq?

Anyone who dares to speak up for THIS dish of shit is a nationalist, a quack and a not-so-secret asshole -- but, what they definitely and objectively are NOT are American patriots....

I know there are many truly patriotic Americans like yourself and YD, but unfortunately there are many powerful people in the US, including top reaches of government, who seem to believe that the only way to make America safe is to dominate the world.

That is very worrying for non-Americans!

I agree completely Anticant. The moral justification for invading Iraq was completely biased and unfounded. If we were truly going off their argument for "harboring terrorism" and "WMD's", we really should have attacked Iran, North Korea, or Syria for that matter. Hell, we KNOW that North Korea intends on creating and obtaining WMD's and have been openly testing missiles, but nobody wants to talk about that! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching the Bush administration run around doing whatever they want with the full support of our CIA, NSA, and military commanders. Of course, anyone who manages to oppose the BA gets run out of office or forced to retire unless they hold a powerful position in congress.

And a month ago Bush was implying a push for war in Iran which has a fully organized military, complete with a massive air force (which we conveniently sold them). There is no way we could handle that. I'm ex-military, and I know for a fact we couldn't handle that kind of war with our forces spread this thin.

Hi Phaedrus - welcome to my Arena! I don't post as often as I used to, but you may enjoy browsing the archive.

If you're not familiar with Yankee Doodle's linked site "StopIslamicConquest" [which in fact ranges much wider] I hope you'll give it careful scrutiny, as he [or she] is remarkably well informed and industrious and I've learned a great deal from it. Not all to my comfort, I may add!

It's no use asking Lenin - he's as dead as Queen Anne.

Exaggerated statistics detract from an important point -- a point that is well-made with the point about the curtailment of civil liberties alone.

I don't think you fully realise how far this one man and his bone-brained utterances is responsible for the deep contempt and dislike with which your country is unfortunately viewed nowadays by all too many of its erstwhile friends and admirers.

You might be surprised.
